There's no single price for a photoshoot in London, because four things move the number: how many hours you need me, how far I'm travelling, how quickly you want the images back, and whether a business is using them commercially. Below is exactly how each one works, so you can judge a quote — mine or anyone's — before you get it.
Fixed packages sound helpful and usually aren't. They work by charging everyone the same, which means half of clients pay for hours or images they don't need, and the other half find their actual job doesn't fit any of the boxes. A two-hour portrait session and an eight-hour wedding-scale event are not the same product with a different sticker.
So I quote per job. You describe what you need, I give you a number, and the number doesn't change afterwards. What follows is the honest version of what's behind it.
Hours on the day. This is the biggest single factor and the easiest to estimate. A portrait session is typically one to two hours. Most events land between two and five. A fashion lookbook is usually a half or full day. If you're unsure, tell me the running order rather than guessing a number — I'd rather scope it properly than have us both run out of time.
Travel and location. Central and inner London is straightforward. Outer boroughs and anything past the M25 adds travel time, and if a shoot needs a permit or a paid location that gets quoted separately rather than hidden in the total. Travel is always shown up front, never added afterwards.
Turnaround. Standard delivery is five to seven days for a full edited gallery. If you need a set the same evening — common for sport, press and launches — that's a rush and it's priced as one, because it means dropping everything else that night.
Usage rights. Personal use is included as standard: your own social, your own prints, your own website. Where images are used to sell something — paid advertising, a campaign, a product page, a client's own resale — that's commercial licensing and it's priced separately. It's the part people forget to mention, and it's much easier to agree before a shoot than after.
Every quote covers the shoot itself, full editing and colour grading of the selected images, and delivery in both print-resolution and web-sized versions. You're not charged extra for editing, and you're not handed unedited files.
You also get the pre-shoot conversation, which is where most of the value is. Working out what you actually need before the day is what stops a shoot going sideways.
Send four things: what you're shooting, where, roughly how long, and where the images will end up. That's usually enough to give you a firm number in one reply rather than a chain of clarifying questions.

If a business is using the images to promote or sell something — ads, campaigns, product pages, a client's own marketing — that's commercial usage and it's licensed separately. If the photos are for your own personal social media and prints, you don't need it. Mention it at booking either way.
